Art and the Lesson Plan?
1. I have a teacher that wants to know about the lesson plan concerning Art! How is Art to be reflected on the lesson plan.. Should it be a planned activity/ free art? will the assessors look at the lesson plan on the day of the assessment?
For ECERS, we ask about the frequency of teacher-directed art projects at the end of the observation: AAE 20-5.2 pp.203-04 For ITERS, we ask about the frequency of access to art materials.
Free art should be observed.
Lesson plans are submitted with the portfolio. They should mention art experiences.
The ECERS and ITERS look for access to art materials and also that the majority of art experiences be individual expression, as opposed to a group art project led by the teacher (no more than once or twice a week).
