A school has requested further information on the items below:
(i) On the classroom list form, does the school use the children’s first names only? There is a concern about privacy.
(ii) If the school has a computer programs that will compile the needed information for the classroom list form, could they attach it instead of filling out the form?
(iii) Under Curriculum 4A, does they school only supply the numbers from the Standards or is additional information required?
(iv) Under Curriculum 4B, are the schools able to request the information be reviewed on site? Not only are they concerned about privacy, but this would require the school to make a high number of copies.
Thank you and look forward to the clarification.

Computerized class lists are fine, as long as they are current and include all of the data we need (birthdate, age, ft or pt days). And first initial and last name is the common format for confidentiality.
Thank you for the information. When you have a chance, could you please provide the answers for items (iii) and (iv) of the post? Thank you.
4A: I am not sure of the official QRIS procedures, but personally, I would like to have the standard number and the phrase that actually goes with it. (Words are easier for me to interpret than numbers!)
4B: We could probably review the 30% on-site, and have one sample (with name deleted) for our files.
However, I would call or e-mail Anita directly before you finalize the portfloio.
i. First names are fine on the class list. The pertinent information is the birthdate/age and number of children.
ii.a computer generated class list is fine as long as the needed information is included on the list.
iii. Curriculum 4A has two possible methods of documenting competence. The easier one is to score 4.5 - 5.49 on the subscales for activities, language and reasoning (listening and talking on the ITERS), and program structure. The other method is to document that all the domains in the Florida Performance Standards are included on the weekly lesson plan(or curriculum if there has been a crosswalk between the two). This can be a separate attachment, or a checklist. The form "Developmentally Appropriate Curriculum Approval" lists all the domains for easy reference.
iv. 4b the intention is to make the child observations/portfolios available for review onsite, not to make copies.
Jennifer thanks for asking for clarification, I’m sure other people have the same questions. For those of you reading this, please encourage your co-workers to ask questions. This is new for all of us, so the more questions; the better everyone will understand what to do.
Anita,
4a. For centers using Creative Curriculum- The curriculum has already been correlated to the performance standards for 3 year olds and VPK.
Is this document acceptable?
Thank you!
Nicole,
For 4A as long as the lesson plans include all the domains, that is fine. Additional documentation would be needed for the other age groups.
