pre-assessment

Is there a standard time established for the assessors that dictates how long a pre-assessment should last? Or the minimum amount of time it should be? what should we do if we find a possible mistake on the report, such as information being recorded and scored in the wrong area?

The time frame for an observation, whether pre-assessment or post, is 3-4 hours. The assessor must stay until a meal and nap set-up are observed. Occasionally in an infant room, where the schedule is individualized, the assessor may be able to complete the observation in a little less than 3 hours, but that is the exception. If you feel there is a mistake on the report, please let us know of your concern and we will look into it. Sometimes we observe things that are temporary in nature, such as the child who turned one year and is moving to the toddler room next week or a playground issue that is being repaired in the next few days. If the issue has been corrected, then the mentor can address other areas.
