The provider requested to have the following questions posted to the blog:
i) The ITERS-R uses the term “much of the day”. When looking at the All About the ITERS-R, it referred the provider to page 7 of the ITERS-R. The provider read the definition, but was able to locate the statement that indicates the “much of the day” equals “20 minutes total.” Where can this information be located in writing? If it can be found on the Internet, please provide the link.

Actually, I believe it is on p.7 of the ITERS SCALES book. It is probably also in the All About, but I am not sure what page....
Sorry, but page numbers would be helpful since we were unable to locate the information ourselves.
In regards to page 7 in the ITERS-R, under the "much of the day" section, there are no numbers given. The only numbers on the page are included in the "accessible" section.
Further clarification is still needed, please. Thank you.
The written definition does not include a statement about "20 minutes total". This is a number that was provided by the authors during training to help assessors figure out whether or not a classroom meets the standard of much of the day. They said to add up all the times when materials were not accessible to one or more children for 3 minutes or more (not including during routines). If the total is 20 minutes or more then the classroom does not meet the requirement for "much of the day.
Is it possible to get this in writing from the authors? The written clarification would be helpful for providers. Thank you for you help.
