A provider has the following questions for the QRIS blog:
i) For those programs that do not use one of the pre-approved curriculums and must submit the approval form and supporting documentation, will they have the opportunity to respond to questions and/or denial of their curriculum?
ii) How long will it take to review a curriculum that is submitted for approval?
iii) Once the portfolio is submitted, how long will the review process take if everything is in order?
iv) Once the portfolio is approved, how long will it be before the assessors arrive to complete their observations?
v) Upon completion of the assessment, how long should a provider expect to wait before the results are announced?
i)Yes, absolutely. We want to give programs every opportunity possible to demonstrate that they are successfully implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum.
ReplyDeleteii)Our intention is to process all submissions as soon as possible after they are received. The actual timeframe will depend upon how many schools are submitting documentation at the same time.
iii)Once the portfolio is submitted we review it as soon as possible. Again, the time frame will depend on how many are submitted at the same time. They will be reviewed in the order received. If there is missing or unclear documentation we will notify the director and the coach/mentor in an attempt to get as much as possible and score as high as possible.
iv)Once the portfolio is received and an initial review is conducted we will add the center to our schedule. We will give the director a time frame, just as we do for pre-assessment and they will be able to tell us about any days that are not good, i.e. field trip, picture day, holiday party, etc.
v)Depending on how busy we are, classroom observation results are typically available within a week. After all the classrooms have been assessed (50%), the results will be tallied on a ERS Summary form. Then the scores for each domain will be transferred to a QRIS Summary form and the final score will be tallied. We will be deciding in our upcoming implemenation meeting exactly how the results will be shared with the center.
