The questions below were asked during a recent visit with a provider:
(i) On the form entitled “Individual Classroom Enrollment List”, it requests the highest number allowed to be enrolled in a classroom. Since enrollment can surpass capacity limits, as long as the children are not all present, does this refer to the maximum number of children permitted under square footage and staffing?
(ii) Since the learning environment section consists of the classroom ratings, can the school submit other items, such as classroom pictures for this section? Is it better to leave it blank?
(iii) Under Curriculum 4A, does the averaged score come from the final rating or the pre-assessment? If from the final rating, what should the school supply for this item if they are not opting to select the second documentation option by supplying standards on lesson plans?
Thank you.

1) The "highest number allowed" is what would be allowed by licensing. So it is indeed about square footage and ratios. When we do the math for ratio/group size, we count all of the names listed and then figure out any part-time equivalents. Some classrooms have received a 0 (zero) if the # of names listed are more than work within the FL ratios.
2) There is no section in the Portfolio for Learning Environment (ERS). It will only be on the Summary Score Sheet pages. That score is based upon the final observations. The Curriculum Level 4A seems to be determined by their ERS scores OR copies of the Weekly Lesson Plans. (We need to discuss how many weeks to collect.) Photos are not mentioned.
3) 4A-1 is based upon the "post assessment" (final observations). The program would not submit anything. The CCQTechnicians (assessors) would collect the data in our office and average the most recent classroom socres for ITERS and ECERS.
